Your piece is designed to evolve gracefully with time. A few simple practices will help maintain its character and structural integrity for years to come.
Wood, Veneers & Surface Finishes
Always pick up and reposition objects. Sliding items across the surface may leave marks.
Use a soft, dry cloth for routine cleaning. If needed, a lightly damp cloth can be used sparingly.
Keep the surface free from contact with sharp edges or rough materials.
In the event of a spill, absorb the liquid immediately using a clean cloth. Avoid scrubbing or using strong cleaning agents.
Position furniture away from prolonged sunlight and sources of heat to preserve tone and finish.
Avoid placing stress on chair backs or balancing weight unevenly, as this can affect structural integrity over time.
Metal accents are protected with a clear coating and should only be wiped gently without the use of chemical cleaners.
Upholstered Pieces
Built for everyday use, with lasting comfort in mind:
Maintain fabric through gentle vacuuming or soft brushing.
For thorough cleaning, engage professional upholstery services.
Address spills immediately by dabbing the affected area. Do not ever rub the fabric.
Avoid harsh products that may damage the fabric or alter its texture.
Limit exposure to sunlight to prevent fading over time.
Regularly reshape loose cushions to retain their form.
Do not apply excessive force on arms or edges, as this may distort the structure.
General Environmental Care
To ensure the longevity of your pieces, we recommend avoiding direct contact with:
Heat sources or extreme temperatures
Hot or chilled items without protective mats
Household chemicals, cosmetics, and perfumes
Smoke, cooking residue, or airborne pollutants
Sharp or abrasive objects
Outdoor environments or direct weather exposure
Aftercare & Support
Over time, signs of use may appear as part of the material’s natural ageing. For repairs, refinishing, or restoration, we recommend professional assistance. If needed, About The Piece can support you with refurbishment services tailored to your piece.

Warranty Policy
At About the Piece, every piece is created with careful craftsmanship and close attention to material integrity. We stand behind the quality of our furniture and offer a limited one-year warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of delivery.
What the Warranty Covers
This warranty applies strictly to structural and functional manufacturing issues relating to:
Internal framework and joinery
Hardware and fittings
Manufacturing-related finish defects
Internal construction components
What the Warranty Does Not Cover
Because our furniture is made using natural materials and designed for everyday living, certain variations and ageing characteristics are considered part of the product’s inherent nature rather than defects. The warranty does not extend to:
Natural variations in wood grain, texture, tone, or surface character.
Regular wear from day-to-day use, including fading, softening, minor movement, or surface ageing.
Damage caused by improper care, harsh cleaning products, or unsuitable maintenance methods.
Misuse, neglect, accidents, or environmental exposure.
Scratches, dents, burns, stains, tears, abrasions, or pet-related damage.
Products placed in outdoor or semi-exposed environments unless explicitly specified for such use.
Alterations, repairs, or modifications carried out by third parties without prior approval from About The Piece.
Fabric, leather, or other upholstery wear that occurs naturally over time, including pilling or fading.
Preferences relating to comfort, softness, or seating feel that are subjective in nature.
Note: Any repaired or replaced component will continue to remain under the original warranty period and will not restart the warranty timeline.
