Cancellation & Returns

At About the Piece, every order is prepared with care and made with intention. As all of our pieces are handcrafted or produced as per orders, we encourage customers to review all order details carefully before confirming a purchase.

Order Cancellations

Cancellation requests must be submitted within 48 hours of placing an order. Once this period has passed, the order may already be in production or processing, and cancellation requests may no longer be accommodated.

Please note that payment gateway and transaction charges, where applicable, are non-refundable and may be deducted from the final refund amount.

Damaged Deliveries

We take extensive precautions in packaging and handling; however, rare transit-related damages may occasionally occur.

We recommend inspecting your order carefully at the time of delivery. If the packaging or product appears damaged, please notify us within 48 hours of receiving the shipment, along with relevant photographs and order details.

For larger deliveries, a supervised handover should be arranged to assist with inspection and unpacking. Certain smaller items may be delivered through courier partners without on-site supervision.

Resolution Process

Once a damage report is received, our team will review the issue and determine the most appropriate resolution. Depending on the nature of the concern, this may include:

  • Restoration or repair
  • Replacement of the affected component or piece
  • Refund, where applicable

In some cases, an assessment or inspection may be required before proceeding further.

If a replacement or pickup is approved, our team will coordinate timelines directly with you. For multi-item orders, only the affected item(s) will be eligible for replacement rather than the complete set.

Refunds

Approved refunds are generally processed within 7 business days from confirmation of the request. Processing timelines may vary slightly depending on the payment provider or banking institution.
