Warranty Policy
At About the Piece, every piece is created with careful craftsmanship and close attention to material integrity. We stand behind the quality of our furniture and offer a limited one-year warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of delivery.
This warranty applies to structural and functional manufacturing issues relating to:
- Internal framework and joinery
- Hardware and fittings
- Manufacturing-related finish defects
- Internal construction components
What the Warranty Does Not Cover
Because our furniture is made using natural materials and designed for everyday living, certain variations and ageing characteristics are considered part of the product’s inherent nature rather than defects.
The warranty does not extend to:
- Natural variations in wood grain, texture, tone, or surface character
- Regular wear from day-to-day use, including fading, softening, minor movement, or surface ageing
- Damage caused by improper care, harsh cleaning products, or unsuitable maintenance methods
- Misuse, neglect, accidents, or environmental exposure
- Scratches, dents, burns, stains, tears, abrasions, or pet-related damage
- Products placed in outdoor or semi-exposed environments unless explicitly specified for such use
- Alterations, repairs, or modifications carried out by third parties without prior approval from About The Piece
- Fabric, leather, or other upholstery wear that occurs naturally over time, including pilling or fading
- Preferences relating to comfort, softness, or seating feel that are subjective in nature
Any repaired or replaced component will continue to remain under the original warranty period and will not restart the warranty timeline.
Repairs Beyond Warranty
Should a manufacturing-related issue arise after the warranty period has ended, we will do our best to assist with repair or refurbishment wherever possible. Associated costs for materials, transportation, and labour may apply.
